Reconfiguration of boarding/disembarking platform no. 1 at Oradea Airport
The reconfiguration of Apron No. 1 at Oradea Airport aims to utilize parking positions for Code C aircraft and to correlate aircraft maneuvers with passenger and service vehicle traffic. The solution is documented through the technical design, the site plan, and the kinematics sheet.

Design Problem
The analyzed configuration had six positions for Boeing 737 and Airbus A321 families and four alternative positions for ATR 42/72. The brief sought an apron with ten positions dedicated to Code C aircraft, compatible with the reference aircraft in the memorandum, including the Boeing 737-10 MAX and Airbus A321 NEO.
The intervention concerns positions 1–7 and the surface between the terminal, the service facilities, and the apron. Positions 8–10 are retained in the configuration presented in the design.
Proposed Solution
- Linear reorganization of positions 1–7, with taxi-in/push-out operations.
- Verification of aircraft paths and clearances, correlated with existing parking positions and taxiways.
- Reconfiguration of the service road and vehicle traffic between and behind the aircraft.
- Pedestrian walkways, guidance markings, and demarcation of passenger areas.
- Correlation of aircraft servicing with emergency vehicle access.

Aircraft Kinematics
The sheet for the Boeing 737-10 at position 5 presents the sequence of aircraft positions during the maneuver and the relationship with the paths on the apron. This analysis links the drawn geometry to the space required for taxiing and pushing back the aircraft, so that markings and traffic can be evaluated together.

Contribution and Design Result
The Sky Meridian team's experience in this project includes design coordination and specialist consulting for the reconfiguration of Apron No. 1. The contributions presented concern the coordination of aircraft stand geometry, aircraft maneuvers and service circulation.
The documented result is the technical configuration of the apron: parking positions, maneuvering paths, service circulation, and correlated markings. The presentation describes the designed solution; implementation and subsequent performance are not evaluated in this case study.
